I rarely use navigation aids when I travel. I mean, it's Nevada. We have shitty cell service in town, much less in the middle of nowhere. If it's a place I've never been, I'll look at the map before I leave then bank on my keen memory and sense of direction once on the road. On this trip I missed an important sign that probably said "turn right to go go the right way dumbass" which I figured out once I was past the point of no return adding 100 miles to my trip.
