WTF is a Social Influencer?

I started thinking about this "social influencer" thing I've been hearing about. I understand what "social" means and I know what an "influence" means, but what the hell is a "social influencer" exactly?

Social influence is the process by which an individual's attitudes, beliefs or behavior are modified by the presence or action of others. Four areas of social influence are conformity, compliance and obedience, and minority influence. Social influence comprises the ways in which individuals change their behavior to meet the demands of a social environment.

According "Influencer Marketing Hub" which they call a "platform" that connects the "content creator" and the "marketer" aka they're the "middleman" (seo for video) sticking their hands in both pockets :
an influencer is someone who has:

  • the power to affect the purchasing decisions of others because of his or her authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with his or her audience.
  • a following in a distinct niche, with whom he or she actively engages. The size of the following depends on the size of his/her topic of the niche.

"It is important to note that these individuals are not merely marketing tools, but rather social relationship assets with which brands can collaborate to achieve their marketing objectives."

Okay, so which is it? What official title do they put on their business cards? "Certified Social Influencer" or "Social Relationship Asset?" I'm going to play it safe and go with "cSI/cSRA." If someone can't figure out what a cSI/cSRA is, it's their problem. They can always ask.

"Classes" of "influencers"

Since I'm identifying as a priveliged white millenial, I don't expect to get millions of followers right away. I get it that I have to work my way up like all the cSI/cSRA's before me did. It may be a rough couple weeks, but I'll eventually make it to "Certified Mega-influencer." That's good because (according to Influencer Marketing Hub) "advertisers get better engagement rates from micro-influencers than from the superstars of social media. Influencer marketing expected to grow to be worth $13.8 billion this year" (2021) and "finding influencers remains the most significant challenge for those who run campaigns in-house but is becoming less of a problem."

Micro-influencer:
less than 15,000 followers
Regular-influencer:
between 15,000 and 50,000 followers
Rising-influencer:
between 50,000 and 100,000 followers
Mid-influencer:
between 100,000 and 500,000 followers
Macro-influencer:
between 500,000 and 1,000,000 followers
Mega-influencer:
more than 1,000,000 followers

That sounds promising, but here's the down side: "Brands still tend to give away free product samples (or give discounts on more expensive products) rather than paying cash to their influencers." So to survive as a Social Influencer and Social Relationship Asset, I guess you work for free shit then sell that free shit for cash or trade it for food. A "ho" for sponsors. Shit, I can do that!

Health and Beauty: Mens hair care and maintenance

I've had many people comment on my hair. Most comments from females (and/or those appearing to be female) are very complimentary and flattering while most guys don't say shit because they're jealous. But I know there are guys out there that can grow it and this video is my way of being a good influence on them and to demonstrate how easy hair care really is.
